Lohan plans Mean Girls sequel

She played 16-year-old Cady Heron in the devilishly good teen comedy Mean Girls.

And ten years on, with the movie enjoying a cult following, Lindsay Lohan, 28, has teased that there may be a sequel in store.

The former child star told Time Out: "People really love the movie: how do you top that? I was with Tina Fey the other day and I said we should do another Mean Girls,"

She continued: "Like an older version where they're all housewives and they're all cheating. That would be really funny. I'll harass Tina to write it."

Saturday Night Live alum Tina, 44, wrote the screenplay and stars alongside Lindsay as calculus teacher Ms. Sharon Norbury.

The 2004 flick centres around a social clique called 'the Plastics' consisting of Rachel McAdams as Regina, Amanda Seyfried as Karen and Lacey Chabert as Gretchen.

McAdams in True Detective talks

US actress Rachel McAdams is in talks to join Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn in the second season of hit crime drama True Detective.

According to industry bible Variety, McAdams has been offered the female lead role in the series.

Jessica Biel and Malin Ackerman were both reportedly considered, but McAdams has emerged as the frontrunner.

Earlier this year, Dan Auerbach found himself hanging out with a girl in New York.

There's probably nothing too strange about that - after all, Auerbach is newly single after his highly publicised divorce last year.

The only thing is, this girl was kind of well known. Her name? Lana Del Rey.

The North African guitarist and band headed to Auerbach's Nashville studio to record a series of jams, which, while delivered in the electric-blues tradition of nomadic, desert-dwelling Tuareg musicians, resulted in a hypnotic album that rises above worthy World music. Auerbach treated him like any other client, a sound to be enhanced with multi-tracking not just preserved. "He's not a f***ing desert-dweller that lives in a cave," Auerbach told Mojo, "so I didn't treat him like that".

Auerbach approached New Orleans legend Dr John with the idea to make a record that would push him out of his comfort zone. "It was really apparent to me that Mac still has a whole lot of enthusiasm for what he does," Auerbach told The Telegraph. "I just wanted him to make a record he could be really proud of. I didn't want to recreate anything, just to do something fresh, but informed by those old records of Mac's that I love."

Martin wants J-Law to meet kids

They have only been dating for two months.

But it seems Chris Martin may be ready to introduce his two children, Apple, 10 and Moses, eight, to new girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence.

And according to Radar Online, Chris' estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow is not too pleased about the idea.

The Coldplay rocker, 37, is apparently so smitten with the 24-year-old actress that he has already told Goop founder Gwyneth his plans for the trio to meet.

An insider told the publication: "Chris has fallen hard for Jen, and they are having a lot of fun together"

Adding: "It's happened very fast, and it's extremely intense. Apple and Moses haven't met their dad's girlfriend, yet. Chris hasn't been discussing the relationship with Gwyneth, out of respect."

Gwyneth, who celebrates her 42nd birthday this weekend, was reportedly shocked at the news.

Lohan's shot at redemption

These are the first lines Lindsay Lohan will speak, all things being well, when she makes her West End debut in David Mamet's play Speed-the-Plow at the Playhouse Theatre in London. The part she plays is Karen, a secretary to two Hollywood producers who turns out to be much smarter than she first appears.

The hopes of punters - and everyone involved in the play - is that she won't be "bad" at all; that the star will turn up, know her lines and maybe even pull off a fantastic performance. In short, they're hoping that this will be the big turnaround moment, the point at which Lohan puts her troubled past behind her and reboots her career by reminding everyone she's a talented actor.

At the time of writing, whether she'll pull it off or not still remains to be seen, but history shows it's not easy for Lohan to stay on the straight and narrow. From the ages of 19 to 26, Lohan was caught twice for drunk driving, cocaine use and had six stints in rehab. She even served two weeks in jail after she breaching her parole.
