Alia bhatt is an indian actress and singer.who appears in Bollywood films.the doughter of filmmaker Mahesh bhatt and actress soni razdan.she made her acting debut with karan johars romantic drama student of the year (2012) a box office success .she subsequently garnered praise for her performances in lmtiaz ali’s road mories and the highly successful romantic drama.

Bhatt was born on 15 march 1993 to indian film director Mahesh bhatt and actress soni razdan.her father is of primarily gujarati descent.and her mother is of Kashmiri german oncestry bhatt has an elder sister.bhatt’s firsh acting role was as a child artist in sangharsh.starring akshay kumar and preity zinta where she played the younger version of zintas character.she had her first leading role in 2012 with karan johar’s student of the year .along side sidharth malhotra and varun dhawan 

In 2014 bhatt had three film releases.she played the protagonist of imtiaz ali’s road film.her portrayal of a lonely teenage girl who develops Stockholm syndrome after being abducted was acclaimed by the critics

Post her debut bhatt performed as  several award functions like filmfare screen and star dust apart form at an international event in hong kong  with varun dhawan and siddharth malhotra .she also performed at a special event alongside dhawan .malhotra aditya roy kapur shaddha kapoor and hama qureshi to raise funds for the flood-affected victims of uttarakhand .she went on to shoot a special PETAfor cats and other homeless animals

Bhatt performed playback singing along with zeb for the song bahatt is the ambassador of popular bronds such as coca-cola ,garnier and maybelline
