Colin Morgan to join BBC drama The Fall
the Northern Irish actor has landed his next big TV gig: a lead role in the second series of BBC thriller The Fall, co-starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan. Confirmed to join the series from episode three, Morgan will play DS Tom Anderson, an officer who is drafted in to help hunt down Phil Spector (Dornan), the serial killer who managed to bypass the police investigation headed up by DS Stella Gibson (Anderson) at the end of series one. He will be joined by another newcomer, Bronagh Taggart (London Irish), who will also play a main role.
Morgan, who began his career in theatre, was last year voted the person TV viewers would most like to see play Doctor Who in a Radio Times poll. On being signed up for The Fall, he said: "I'm delighted to be joining the cast of The Fall for what is going to be an exciting and gripping second series. Allan Cubitt has written some exceptional material."

Colin Morgan is among the cast of BBC Radio 4's upcoming drama Good Omens.
The Merlin actor will play Newton Pulsifer in the adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's cult classic.Mark Heap (Spaced) and Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy) will play the central roles of Aziraphale and Crowley. Whose Line Is It Anyway? star Josie Lawrence will play Agnes Nutter and Paterson Joseph will star as Famine.Clive Russell (Ripper Street), Julia Deakin (Hot Fuzz), Louise Brealey (Sherlock), Phil Davis (Whitechapel), Mark Benton (Waterloo Road), Arsher Ali (Beaver Falls) and Simon Jones (Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy) also feature in the cast.The 1990 book, co-written by Gaiman and Pratchett, focuses on the attempts of the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley to avert the end of the world following the birth of Satan's son.Gaiman and Pratchett will make cameo appearances in the six-part series, which will air on BBC Radio 4 in December.The project was originally proposed as a television drama back in 2011, but the series never made it to screens.
